An example of the cloud craft.

What you will need:                                                                     Microwave required

  • 1 or more bars of soap (The more bars, the bigger the cloud)
  • A piece of paper
  • Crayons or markers (Preferably crayons)

1. Take your picture and markers/crayons and color a figure. For an Ascension craft you could make it Jesus rising into heaven, or for the Assumption Mary rising into heaven and so on. In the picture example it is an angel but it could be anything. Make sure the bottom is straight.

2. Take you bar\bars of soap and place them in a bowl or plate and put it in the microwave. Until exploded fully, keep it in the microwave for thirty or twenty seconds at a time.  After exploded, put it in for twenty more seconds.

3. Mix the soap and shape it into a cloud. To let it dry, pour cold water over it and then use a paper towel and soak up the water.

4.  After it is dry, take a knife and make a slit on the top to put your picture in. You can decorate it with stickers and it makes a good mantle piece decoration.

St. Elisabeth-Part 2

                                                                 The Medieval Saint-Part 2

St.  Elizabeth of Hungary many times proved herself a pious saint.   As a little princess in a Thuringian castle in the middle ages, Elizabeth would, while playing with her friends, make excuses to go near or into the chapel.   When Landgrave Hermann was excommunicated, Elizabeth was very sad to see the chapel turned into another room.   Even though she was a landgravine in her married life, Elizabeth stayed up long hours at night praying.  St. Elizabeth of Hungary was a very pious saint.

St. Peter’s Denial

                   St. Peters Denial

While Jesus was being questioned, St. Peter’s fear for his own safety caused many things to happen.    Peter regretted fleeing Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane so he decided to follow him to the temple.   As he entered the gate, a maid saw he was a follower of Jesus.   She told him so.   Very much disturbed Peter denied Christ.     After, Peter walked to a place where servants were warming their hands over a fire.    He joined them.  Another servant recognized him as a disciple of Jesus.  Hearing this, he said an oath and denied Christ again.    Peter was now fearful and walked away.   As he was leaving, another person recognized him.    Soon a second person was inquiring too.   Uttering oaths and cursing, he denied Jesus Christ for the third and last time.    He turned around just in time to meet the sorrowful eyes of Jesus staring sadly at him.    The cock crowed.  Peter ran away weeping.    Later Peter overcame his fear for himself and died a martyr for Jesus on the cross upside-down.

St. Daniel

An Amazing Miracle

The prophet Daniels refusal to obey the king’s decree caused many things to happen.   Daniel had enemies who were jealous because he was the king’s favorite, and wanted to get rid of him.   Knowing he would not honor or worship any other god but the one true God, they made the king pass a decree.  The decree said that anyone who worshipped or honored any God except the king himself would be thrown into the lion’s den.  Daniel ignored the decree and continued to worship the one true God.  Daniel was caught in his enemies trap.  His enemies spied on him and seeing he took no heed of the new law, told the king. The king, whose name was Darius, was very sad and did not want to kill his favorite in the lion’s den, but he had to because of the decree.  Daniels enemies rejoiced as Daniel was led to the lion’s den.  They rolled a huge boulder in front of the opening so he had no chance of escape.   Desperately, with much faith, Daniel prayed to God to be saved.   God answered his prayers and the lions did not hurt him.    Rejoicing, King Darius set Daniel free and the enemies of Daniel became the lion’s prey.  I think Daniels great trust in God saved his life.

One of the most popular Easter projects is making Easter cards.   There are so many ways you can make them but I will give you the one I recommend.

1.  Take a sheet of colored construction paper your pick of color and fold it in half.    Trim it any way you want.  Also take a piece of white paper and trim it to fit in one side of your colored paper.

2. Try to find an old Easter card and cut important things out of it.  If you can not find an Easter card you can draw an Easter picture and cut out parts of your own picture.

3.   On the front draw a background scene to tape your cut outs on.  Next tape your cut outs on the background creating you own version of a Easter card.   Last of all paste the white paper in the inside which you can write on.

Hello!  One of the first things I normally like to do is give ideas.  It is almost Easter so I will give ideas for Easter presents.

The Easter book

1. First get several sheets of white paper.  Make a title about your Easter topic.  It could be about the Resurrection or the Easter bunny.   Any Easter topic! Make the title in big letters and make a colorful illustration underneath.

2.   Next using your other paper, write your story.  Make your words about two inches away from the end of each side of the paper.  Put you words on the bottom and make a picture on the top.  Use as many pages as your story takes each with an illustration.   Number the pages.

3.   Take your story and put it together neatly.  Get tape and put all the pages together on the left side with it the long way wrapping the pages together.  Turn to the first page.  Put tape up to the top over the crack in the middle.  Do the same to all the other pages.  After you are done shut your book and press down on the cover.   The perfect Easter present!
